TEA PREPARATION: Experience Bettina's Tea

Who doesn't love a good cup of tea ? I know I do! Whether you're a tea enthusiast or a casual sipper, you'll agree that tea is a versatile drink that can be enjoyed in many ways.

But have you ever had a cup of tea that tasted off or bitter? I know I have, so I decided to learn how to prepare it properly. My experience at Bettina's Tea has taught me that the secret to a great cup of tea is all in preparation.

So, we'll take you through the steps to prepare different types of tea and show you how to make them so you can enjoy a perfect cup of tea every time.
Before we dive into the preparation methods, let's discuss the different types of tea available in the market. There are five main types of tea: white tea, green tea, oolong tea, black tea, and puerh tea.
All of these teas contain caffeine which is a natural stimulant found in many plants, including tea leaves. 

 White Tea

  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 175°F (80°C).
  2. Add the white tea leaves to the water in a teapot or a cup. Use one teaspoon of tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water.
  3. Steep the tea for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and enjoy.

Green Tea

Green tea is made from the leaves of the tea plant that are lightly steamed or pan-fried, which helps to preserve its natural flavor and antioxidants. To prepare green tea, follow these steps:
  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 175°F (80°C).
  2. Add the green tea leaves to the water in a teapot or a cup. Use one teaspoon of tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water.
  3. Steep the tea for 1-3 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and enjoy.

Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is a partially fermented tea that has a unique flavor profile that falls between green tea and black tea. To prepare oolong tea, follow these steps:

  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 195°F (90°C).
  2. Add the oolong tea leaves to the water in a teapot or a cup. Use one teaspoon of tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water.
  3. Steep the tea for 1-5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and enjoy.

Black Tea

Black tea is a fully fermented tea that has a bold, robust flavor and aroma. To prepare black tea, follow these steps:

  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 205°F (96°C).
  2. Add the black tea leaves to the water in a teapot or a cup. Use one teaspoon of tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water.
  3. Steep the tea for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and enjoy.

Puerh Tea

Puerh tea is a fermented tea that has a rich, earthy flavor and is highly valued in Chinese culture for its health benefits. To prepare puerh tea, follow these steps:

  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 195°F (90°C).
  2. Add the puerh tea leaves to the water in a teapot or a cup. Use one teaspoon of tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water.
  3. Steep the tea for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and enjoy.
